'NieR: Automata' Has Weapons, Multiple Protagonists And Skirts That Get Torn Up From Damage

“NieR: Automata” has a lot of new things to offer players who have waited so long to see the sequel.

The “NieR” sequel has an official title, “NieR: Automata,” and now Square Enix is spilling the beans on the upcoming RPG game. Director Taro Yoko and producer Yosuke Saito shared more information in interviews with Famitsu and Dengeki,

While other games usually have one protagonist to follow, Saito says that there are two characters while Yoko says there maybe three, as reported by Siliconera. Even the gender of the female character in the “NieR: Automata” gameplay trailer wasn’t confirmed nor denied.

Plus, it was surpising that the choice to go with a female character was at the request of Akihiko Yoshida to make an “outfit that would be fit for cosplaying.”

However, Playstation Blog explained that the female character isn’t human. Her name is 2B, also her serial number, and she’s an android with humanoid features. According to the blog, “In the world of Nier, there are strict rules meaning this kind of android is not allowed to have emotions. However, each different model has its own quirks and characteristics and 2B has a comparatively cold and level headed personality.”

Other details on “NieR: Automata”include possible DLC costumes for 2B, a whole arsenal of weapons that have not yet been revealed, there is a living creature that is deer-like and will be rideable and so much more.

The developers also made sure that the story has an unexpected twist. Saito explained on Siliconera, “When looking at Yoko-san’s plot, it has some very happy ending-like content. On the contrary, the story is so good to the point where you’d like to ask him ‘is it okay for it to be this much of a happy ending?’ I really hope you look forward to that.”
