With "Once Upon a Time" Season 5 approaching its 100th episode set to air in March, spoilers have surfaced that allude to the debut of a new major character for the series.
As previously reported, "Once Upon a Time" was looking to cast a character called "The Distinguished Gentleman" for the second half of Season 5. On Tuesday, TVLine confirmed that actor Greg Germann has been cast in the mysterious role.
According to spoilers, this new ominous sounding character is described as "a mysterious figure with god-like powers who is always clad in a perfectly tailored suit," and someone who can "strike fear into people just by being friendly" and "the last person you ever want to share a drink with."
Although unconfirmed, it is heavily speculated that this potential villain is none other than Hades from the Disney movie "Hercules" and Greek mythology.
There are other reasons to think this as well.
As previously reported, ABC is casting the guest starring role of a "dashing, strapping young man" who is "single-minded in his pursuit of his destiny: to be the greatest hero who ever lived." He will be joined by a "plucky, 18-year-old female adventurer with a sly sense of humor and a tough, no-nonsense spirit."
Hercules and Megara, anyone?
Germann will make his debut on "Once Upon a Time" during the series' 100th episode.
