It's time to duel.
Well, in 2016 anyway.
The official "Yu-Gi-Oh: The Dark Side Dimensions" movie release date has finally been confirmed. The movie will be released in Japan on April 23, and then will be released outside of Japan later in the year.
So far, fans in an ANN forum appear to remain excited for the brand new "Yu-Gi-Oh" movie.
"Finally. After all these years, Mokuba got a haircut. In all seriousness, I'm looking forward to see where this goes," said Kurohei.
Anime News Network reports that the story from the film will feature an all new battle between Yugi Yami and Kaiba. The plot of the film is described as follows:
"In the past Yūgi Yami and Kaiba have clashed many times!! Yami Yūgi, who resides in Yūgi Mutō's body, and Kaiba will have a duel that bets their prides and accepts each other's mutual experience
The original voice actors Shunsuke Kazama and Kenjiro Tsuda will return to play Yugi and Kaiba, respectively. They will be joined by the following returning Japanese voice cast:
Hidehiro Kikuchi as Hiroto Honda (Tristan Taylor)
Hiroki Takahashi as Katsuya Jōnōchi (Joey Wheeler)
Junko Takeuchi as Mokuba Kaiba
Maki Saitou as Anzu Masaki (Téa Gardener)
Rica Matsumoto as Ryō Bakura
The officially announced staff for "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Darkside of Dimensions" is Kazuki Takashi, who is in charge of the film's script, character designs, and is acting as chief production supervisor. The film will be directed by Satoshi Kuwahara.
The 2016 "Yu-Gi-Oh" movie was announced last June by 4K Media. The film was announced in celebration of the 20th anniversary since the original release of the manga series by Kazuki Takahashi.
For those who are not familiar with the series, Hulu describes "Yu-Gi-Oh!" as follows:
"Meet Yugi, an eager young freshman at Domino High School. Yugi and his best friends, Joey, Tristan, and Tea share a love of a cool new game that's sweeping the nation...Duel Monsters! In this card-battling game, players pit different mystical creatures against one another in action-packed, high intensity duels."
