According to reports, Seven Seas Entertainment announced that they have licensed the "Monster Musume" manga anthology. The two volume anthology is entitled "Monster Musume: I love Monster Girls." The first volume will be released on May 17 and the second volume will be released on July 12. Each volume will contain three color postcards.
So far, fans are very surprised that the anthology, given its shorter format than the manga, is being exported.
"Wow, I'm surprised at this. It's not common that we get many publishers releasing 4-panel stuff," said Chrno2 in an ANN forum.
Anime News Network reports that the "Monster Musume: I Love Monster Girls" anthology is a collection of four-panel spinoffs based on the original manga series. The stories are by various artists including Shake-O, SaQ Tottori, Cool-Kyou-Sinnjya, and more.
"Monster Musume" was originally a manga series that ran in Okayado. Seven Seas Entertainment, which has also licensed the main manga series outside of Japan, describes the story as follows:
"When a hapless human named Kurusu Kimihito is inducted as a "volunteer" into the government exchange program, his world is turned upside down. A snake-like lamia named Miia comes to live with him, and it is Kurusu's job to take care of her and make sure she integrates into his everyday life."
It goes on:
"Unfortunately for Kurusu, Miia is undeniably sexy, and the law against interspecies breeding is very strict. Even worse, when a ravishing centaur girl and a flirtatious harpy move in, what's a full-blooded young man with raging hormones to do?!"
