Karl-Anthony Towns is proving why he is worthy of the number one pick selection as he continues to tear it up for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Fans got a glimpse of the future as both Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns lit up the Chicago Bulls with a 102-93 overtime win.
Andrew Wiggins spoke with Yahoo Sports about the victory and he said they are hungrier so they got the win.
''We just had to fight - we wanted it,'' Wiggins said. ''We were hungry for this game. When we went to overtime, we stayed aggressive.''
Wiggins scored 31 points while rookie Karl-Anthony Towns pulled off 17 points and 13 rebounds to go along with four rejections. The Wolves stands at three wins and two losses as of writing.
Towns has been impressive in his first five games and fans might be wondering what he's doing right. According to the Kentucky product, Kevin Garnett's tutelage has been a great help and has been working wonders which is evident in the games he has played.
"You know what, I think a lot of my points today came off one dribble going to the basket," Towns said via Wild Cat Blue Nation. "With them being 6-9 and lighter and me being 7-foot, that's not supposed to happen. I was just seeing openings. I was utilizing the little things KG taught me about getting to the basket, and it really worked."
Towns, so far is averaging 14.8 points, 8.8 rebounds per contest. The presence of Kevin Garnett, along with Tayshaun Prince and Andre Miller have been vital to the success of the young players according to head coach Sam Mitchell.
"They're just so encouraging for the young guys. They just give so much knowledge," Mitchell said via USA Today. "It's one thing as coaches, we can say it all the time, but when those guys who are out there have actually done it and won championships, when they say it, it just means a lot more."
