NBA Trade Rumors: Derrick Rose And Chicago Bulls Break-Up Imminent

Nobody would imagine Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls could possibly part ways after the point guard won the Rookie of the year in 2009 and the MVP award in 2011. The relationship just seemed to be in for a long haul, not to mention, Chicago is Rose's hometown.

But in the early part of the 2015-2016 NBA season, the relationship between the two sides is not looking good which led to talks that the Bulls are planning to move their star point guard to another team per ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

"The Derrick Rose breakup with the Bulls has begun. I don't know how long it's going to last. I don't know when it's going to be complete, but you can sort of see it. The team and the franchise have moved on to a little bit of a certain extent. ... His attitude has been not terrific. The comments that he made about his contract in 2017, you want to talk about being tone deaf?" as stated by Windhorst.

But upon hearing the rumors, Rose simply shrugged it off and he said that he'd rather focus on his game that he has dedicated his life on to.

"I'm so numb to it, man," he said via Bulls Nation. "I try to stay away from it. I know who I am as a person and a player, and I know how hard I work, how much I dedicate my whole life to this sport."

Head coach Fred Hoiberg also praised Derrick Rose for not letting himself get distracted by the rumblings.

"You have to block out that stuff and I think Derrick has done a really good job of that," he said, per Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald. "As a head coach, honestly, I try not to read anything and I think the players have to do the same thing."

According to Realty Today, a plausible trade partner for the Bulls in exchange for Derrick Rose is the Brooklyn Nets. In return, they will send Joe Johnson and Jarrett Jack to the Bulls. Will this deal benefit both teams? Sound off in the comment box below.
