OKC Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has had enough of the never-ending free agency talks that someday, he will return to his hometown and play for the Washington Wizards.
Since last year, Durant has been surrounded by countless rumors and speculations that the team in Oklahoma City will never be enough for him to win a title. Thus, flying to the Eastern Conference will make it easier and siding with his hometown team will give him higher chance of winning an NBA championship.
Durant, despite countless times of letting the media know how much he hates the talks, told Sam Amick of USA Today that free agency feels like a season now and that should not be the case at all.
"Free agency is like a season now, and it shouldn't be that big. Me, I feel, is you should focus on who you have on your team. It's easy to get your hopes up and expect a guy to come to your team or whatever - and I'm not talking about myself, I'm just talking about free agency in the past years and in the future - you get your hopes up as a fan, and then they let you down and you end up not liking the player. There's a little bit too much emphasis on that type of stuff, but it's part of the game."
He also have something to say to Wizards fans and management as he recalls a game held in Washington wherein he was photo-shopped to be wearing a Wizard jersey. For him, it was simply disrespectful for the players working very hard to please the fans yet they desire someone who is not there at all.
"(The Jan. 22 visit) was kind of disrespectful, in my opinion, because you've got a great team there already that deserves your full 100 percent support," Durant said, per Amick. "I wouldn't like that if I was on that team. I didn't like that, but it comes with it nowadays."
