Bono Says U2 New Album Will Have 12 Songs; ‘Songs Of Experience’ Will Come Out In 2016

U2 is expected to come up with a new album, "Songs Of Experience," as a follow up to their 2014 relase, "Songs Of Innocence," which broke the internet after the disc magically appeared on everybody's Apple device.

A report from Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Bono and the rest of U2 are in fact working on a new album release, which might arrive in 2016.

According to the website, the band is set to finish their "Innocence + Experience Tour" this November, where they are set to play their final show in their hometown of Dublin, Ireland.

After which, U2 is scheduled to return to the recording studio to finish their new album, which is expected to have at least 12 tracks.

"We're playing out of our skins at the moment," Bono says. "It's pathetic it took us 35 years to be the band we've always wanted to be. It's a wild thing to be in it. Our friend, Noel Gallagher, came to a show and said to us, 'You're starting with the encore?'"

Meanwhile, Bono also revealed recently that they have a few songs in line for the new record, which includes a song called "Tightrope," which was reportedly written by the Edge.

"We're well into it," Bono said. "Edge just came up with a cracker the other day! It's provisionally titled 'Tightrope.'"

Furthermore, Bono also revealed that fans should expect something different and "epic" on their release.

"It's very epic. It's very up. And, you know, that's probably what the experience has taught us: to be fully in the moment and that fun is respected, and joy is not to be let go of."

Although there are no official words regarding the new album reports from U2, "Songs Of Experience" is expected to come out around late 2016, as the band is reportedly scheduled to return in the studio after their tour on Nov. 28.
