‘Overwatch’ Release Date Set On Spring 2016! New Heroes Genji, D.Va And Mei Unveiled!

One of the most anticipated first-person shooter games from Blizzard, "Overwatch" release date has been confirmed to be on Spring 2016.

This game is Blizzard's first attempt on a massive first-person multiplayer game which will feature a six versus six contests. The story is set on a futuristic Earth wherein heroes from different walks of life will clash for supremacy and claim precious territories in the planet.

CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Morhaime shared his excitement on their newest and biggest game in recent memory and he assured fans that this will be an amazing experience.

"We're building Overwatch to be the first-person shooter we've always wanted to play, with a vibrant world, awesome heroes, and an emphasis on tightly focused cooperative gameplay," Morhaime said via DSOgaming. "We're excited to welcome console and PC gamers to the fight for the future, and we can't wait to see all the incredible things teams are able to accomplish on the battlefield this upcoming spring."

Also, he unveiled new characters that will make the roster of heroes much deeper. The CEO said that a ninja, a gamer and a scientist will be joining the fray.

"Genji, a cybernetic ninja, is an expert assassin capable of extraordinary feats of agility, including reflecting enemy attacks with his blade. D.Va is a former pro-gaming superstar who pilots an experimental military mech in defense of her home country," he said.

"Mei travels the globe applying her scientific expertise to protect the natural world; in battle, her arsenal of climate-manipulating technology has the power to put the opposition on ice."

As of writing, the "Overwatch" roster is at 21 heroes.
