November Nintendo Direct Ignites New Pokemon Game, 'GO,' Pokken Tournament Rumors

With many Pokemon fans still hoping for a new game in time to celebrate the anniversary, the upcoming Nintendo Direct has ignited hope once again.

On Tuesday, the official Nintendo of America Twitter page confirmed the November Nintendo Direct to be taking place on Nov. 12 at 2:00 p.m. PT. Based on this, they will focus on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS releases.

"As much as I want it to be a new Pokemon game for something as huge as a game announcement it'd be a Pokemon Direct right?" asked reddit user MrPiggywinkles52.

Nevertheless, given that "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" were announced in a Nintendo Direct, fans are still clinging to the hope that a sequel like "Pokemon Z" or something aligned with "Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire" will be announced.

However, the November Nintendo Direct could also announce something related to "Pokken Tournament," "Pokemon GO" or "Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon."

With the announcement of the augmented reality project "Pokemon Go," fans need not worry about the budget for the upcoming mobile release.

Billed as like "Ingress but with a Pokemon theme," "Pokemon Go" will be developed by Niantic Labs alongside Nintendo and the Pokemon Company. According to Android Authority, the development company has raised $20 million in funding from Google, the Pokemon Company and Nintendo.

Prior to "Pokemon GO," the last major announcement came during the 2015 Pokemon World Championships, when Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada announced "Pokken Tournament" for Nintendo Wii U.

"We're planning to release the game Spring of 2016 worldwide," said Bandai Namco's Katsuhiro Harada. "The development of the game has been going really well."

But with things taking an interesting turn in the Pokemon anime world, will the game franchise follow that with a new game surrounding the mysteries of Zygarde? Stay tuned to find out!
