The Memphis Grizzlies just landed point guard Mario Chalmers from the Miami Heat but it looks like they are not yet done wheeling and dealing.
The Grizz got their much needed boost in offensive firepower in Chalmers, (along with James Ennis) who they exchanged for struggling point guard Beno Udrih and Jarnell Stokes. However, it seems like they are not yet content with their current firepower as they look to deal for score first guard/forward Nick Young.
According to Sports Blog All About Rookies, Nick Young can supply the much needed 3-point scoring the Grizzlies lack and this will also give way to their young talents D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle to develop.
"The Los Angeles Lakers are definitely in a position to rebuild, with D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle currently seeing big minutes and the Lakers try and develop their future stars," as stated in the website.
"So does Nick Young really fit in at Los Angeles, if the Lakers do truly want to begin rebuilding, then perhaps it is time to start unloading some of their older players, while they can still get some value for them."
Meanwhile, Zach Randolph's name is also in the trade rumor mill as his contract makes him a good asset to move for Memphis. The veteran is averaging 16.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest and some teams could find that very attractive. According to Cheat Sheet, the New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors and Dallas Mavericks could use his services.
Will these Memphis Grizzlies trade rumors come to fruition? Will there be a significant overhaul during the course of the season? Stay tuned.
