The New York Knicks are looking good after they drafted Latvian forward/center Kristaps Porzingis in this year's draft.
The kid not only is he proving people wrong that he can't contribute right away, but he also showing that he can also be a superstar in the NBA.
The 4th overall pick in the draft is averaging 11.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest but he is also putting up highlights one after another.
Listed at 7'3", Porzingis is expected to be a monster in the boards and a match-up nightmare for opposing big men as they need to guard him all the way to the three-point line.
Knicks legend Patrick Ewing acknowledges his game and calls him as a force to be reckoned with. With today's NBA where big men can shoot, that makes him a very desirable player to have in any team's roster.
"He's a force to be reckoned with," said Hornets assistant head coach Ewing via News Day. "He looks like he's going to be a fine addition to their team. He's 7-3, but he's a perimeter big," Ewing said. "When I played, the bigs, if you're 7-3 you'd be on the blocks. I think he has a versatile game. His game is suited to the way the NBA is right now."
"He's been doing a very good job. He's not just out there shooting the jump shot. He's getting in there getting offensive rebounds. He's not a finesse big. He's making a presence known."
Porzingis, meanwhile, knows how much fans have taken notice of his game and even his friends are going crazy with the highlight plays he is producing on a nightly basis.
"Everybody's going crazy," Porzingis said. "But I've been doing this for a while."
