Denver Nuggets News: Emmanuel Mudiay The Next Big Thing? Rookie Praised By All-Time Great Jason Kidd

Denver Nuggets rookie point guard Emmanuel Mudiay has been doing a great job orchestrating the Nuggets offense and that performance will not be overlooked.

Mudiay's stellar showing has caught the attention of future Hall-of-Famer and Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd as he told Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post that someday, the kid will be much better than him.

"He'll be better [than me]. He's better already. Being able to run an NBA team at 19 is not easy," Kidd said. "You look at some of the greats - Magic (Johnson) was able to do it. And you're looking at this kid Mudiay, who has the opportunity to do something special. So, I would encourage him to be better than me, and I think he will be at the end of the day."

As of this writing, Mudiay is averaging 13.1 points and 6.3 assists per game and the Nuggets are currently slated at 4-4.

Kidd also praised his confidence in taking big shots and he just can't stop to admire the fact that Mudiay is just 19.

"At 19 years old, he's very talented. He's running the team, he's not afraid to take a big shot," Kidd said. "Some people have said that he can't shoot, but he finds a way to put the ball in the basket. I think he enjoys to play the game, and I think for me, watching the tape on him is exciting."

"To see a 19-year old being able to run a team with his poise, and then also his skills. He has skills at the age of 19."

Upon hearing Kidd's statement, Mudiay is motivated to keep on doing what he does best as well as listening to the advice of all-time greats like Kidd.

"When you get a Hall of Famer talking to you like that, that's huge," Mudiay told Dempsey. "And just take all of the advice you can get."
