‘Expendables 4' Movie Casting News: Sylvester Stallone’s Aging Hero Franchise Will Hit Theaters In 2017; Who Will Be On The Expendables Expansion Team?

'The Expendables 4' Movie News and Casting Updates: 'The Expendables 4' will reportedly have a 2017 theater release. Although it hasn't been confirmed by "The Expendables" actor Silvester Stallone, the all-star action thriller is set for a 2016 shoot and a 2017 release.

According to Variety "The Expendables 4," will continue its all-star action formula on a budget of $100 million.

"The Expendables 4" is reportedly being written by Dave Callaham and will be directed by Avi Lerner. Thought "The Expendables 1" and "The Expendables 2," were huge hits, "The Expendables 3" was reported to have been a huge letdown.

Stallone blamed the PG Rating and lower levels of violence, which was meant to pull in more viewers, on the box office drop.

The "Expendables" franchise features some of the world's best known movie hero superstars. In "The Expendables 3," the franchise added Rhonda Rousey. The upcoming movie may star W.W.E superstars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Hulk Hogan, who have both been vocal about wanting to join the cast.

"I don't want to be on the team and be buddies with them," Johnson said in a recent Reddit chat. "I want to hunt every single one of them down."

There are also rumors that Bollywood star Salman Khan may also join the cast. Jackie Chan and Manny Pacquiao have been linked to the upcoming movie, though Pacquiao said his schedule might not permit it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Statham will reportedly return.

Expendables star Scott Adkins, a martial artist who was also featured in X-Men Origins: Wolverine is rumored to be shooting Marvel's Doctor Strange, according to The Wrap, along with Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Tilda Swinton, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Amy Landecker.

WWE legend Hulk Hogan told The Star he hasn't spoken with Stallone yet.

"But there's a bunch of people who have thrown my name around and done stuff," Hogan told The Star.

"I'd love to read the script. I don't know how many more Expendables they're going to make, so I'd love to be in the next one."

Hogan said that he wanted to play "a bad guy again in a Stallone movie. It would be a lot of fun."

Desi Blitz reports that Indian actor Salman Khan and Stallone have been tweeting each other in the past weeks.

Rumors about "The Expendables 4" started circulating online after the third installment.
