2016 NBA Draft: Ben Simmons Favorite As First Overall Pick Next Year; What Does He Do Best?

The NCAA season is now underway and the freshman class is making a lot of noise, particularly Kentucky's Jamal Murray and LSU's Ben Simmons.

Right now, the two is listed at the top five of the 2016 NBA mock draft board of NBA-Draft.net and Simmons is currently listed as the favorite to be next year's first overall selection.

So what is special with this kid? According to some scouts, his ambidextrous play makes him a very unpredictable point forward. He is a very skilled passer for his size but they see the need for Simmons to improve his jump shot.

"He is reverse ambidextrous. He is unselfish and loves to pass. In a triangle offense he could run the point guard position in the NBA. He has a high basketball IQ and shows leadership qualities. His biggest weakness is his jump shot, but there is lots of time for improvement," wrote Yahoo Sports.

"He can play on any NBA team right now," another NBA scout told Yahoo Sports. "He's big and sees the game like a point guard. He can guard shooting guards, small forwards and power forwards. That's real talent. He looks 7-footers in the eye. Just skip him and go on to evaluate the next guy."

With the NCAA pre-season happening right now, all eyes are now on Simmons and will look closely if he is indeed deserving as the first pick in next year's draft. In his second game, he helped his team defeat McNesee State Owls, 91-69. He scored 22 points, grabbed nine rebounds dished out six assists and stole the ball four times as well as not registering a single turnover. Here are the highlights courtesy of CBS Sports.
