The Dalai Lama Discourages Everyone To Pray For Paris? Terror Attacks Mastermind Killed?

The Dalai Lama has reportedly asked people to stop the Pray for Paris movement as he condemned the terror attacks in the City of Lights last week.

In an interview with Deutsche Welle, the religious leader reiterated that while prayers do work, it was still up to the citizens of the world to ensure that peace will continue to reign. He even pointed out that people should not let God and the government be solely responsible in taking care of the problem the world faces.

"We cannot solve this problem only through prayers," he explained to the source above. "I am a Buddhist and I believe in praying. But humans have created this problem, and now we are asking God to solve it. It is illogical. God would say, solve it yourself because you created it in the first place."

In other to counter the problems of conflict in the world today, the spiritual leader said unity was the key.

"We need a systematic approach to foster humanistic values, of oneness and harmony," he stressed. "If we start doing it now, there is hope that this century will be different from the previous one. It is in everybody's interest. So let us work for peace within our families and society, and not expect help from God, Buddha or the governments."

The Pray for Paris movement all over social media captured the world minutes after terror attacks happened in the City of Lights. From all over the world, people, celebrities and even dignitaries used the hashtags #PrayforParis and #PeaceforParis to show their solidarity after the unfortunate incident that took the lives of at least 120 people.

Almost a week after the incident, France has directed counter-attacks against the Islamic State, who claimed responsibility over the attacks.

Raids have also been done amid the Pray for Paris calls. On Wednesday, according to NBC News, alleged mastermind of the terror attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was reportedly killed in a raid in Saint-Denis. The said suspect reportedly died after one of his companions blew up a suicide vest as soon as police were able to infiltrate their hideout.
