'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Update: 'Mr. Robot' Writers To Return For Season 2

'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Update: "Mr. Robot" concluded a very successful first season. TV fans are eagerly awaiting the airing of the second season already. Mr. Robot season 1 ended on a dramatic note that sent fans in a frenzy. The show has a large following and is turning the hacker culture it into something mainstream.

"Mr. Robot" was the first show to have released its pilot episode online and its second season was picked up even before the first season aired.

USA Network's Mr. Robot's creator-writer-director Sam Esmail, stars Christian Slater, who plays Mr. Robot, and Rami Malek, who plays hacker Elliot Alderson, recently sat for a panel discussion along with music composer Mac Quayle, costume designer Kim Wilcox and editor Franklin Peterson.

"My prerequisite for hiring these guys was that they were a little off, and not completely stable," Esmail said.

According to "Mr. Robot" creator Sam Esmail, the next season will be darker than the first one. Slater will returning as Mr. Robot and as Edward Alderson, Elliot's long deceased father. "My prerequisite for hiring these guys was that they were a little off, and not completely stable," Esmail said.

Esmail kept a Season 2 spoilers close to the vest but promised "We have the writers in the room tonight."

"I'm listening to all these great actors, and what they had wasn't working at all," said Esmail, "Then Rami comes in and added this warmth. It changed everything. He added a vulnerability to Elliot. I wanted to hug Elliot and say, 'Don't go away and stop talking.' Rami is a big owner in this character I created."

The creative team from "Mr. Robot" locked themselves in a room to brainstorm over Mr. Robot Season 2 for the USA Network show. While fans bide their time watching the 24-hour Mr. Robot Marathon starting with the commercial-free pilot and ends with commercial-free Episodes 7-10 for New Year's Eve, the writers will be hard at work.

Amazon will be distributing the second season in the UK shortly after it airs in the US.

"Mr. Robot" also established a loyal following in the UK and Australia, being streamed on Australian networks Presto and Showcase.

"Mr. Robot" tells the story of computer hacker Elliot (Rami Malek), who gets involved with ag group of hackers led by Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) who want to bring down tech company E Corp. Mr. Robot, co-stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin and Martin Wallström. It was created by Sam Esmail who executive produces with Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton.

No release date has been set yet for season two of "Mr. Robot" but it has been reported that the new season might premiere in June or July 2016.
