Although fans still have a few more years to go before "Pretty Little Liars" ends its projected seven-season run, plans are already in the works for what could come after.
For some time now, the team behind "Pretty Little Liars" has been discussing the potential of a movie after the series ends. While that is still a possibility, executive producer Marlene King says a hiatus is in order before that can happen.
"We've got some really big ideas for a great PLL movie, but that won't happen right after the series ends," said King according to E! Online. "I think we'll take a little break and let everybody go off and do a few things and hopefully we'll come back together again and do something really special."
Before that, "Pretty Little Liars" still has the Season 6B premiere to unveil, and King says there will be ample changes for its cast of Liars.
"The girls you last saw on 'Pretty Little Liars' are really not girls anymore," continued King.
"They're grown up, very mature young women leading very interesting lives, and they're about to come back to Rosewood again. Of course, it's 'Pretty Little Liars,' so they do come back with some secrets and some lies."
On Friday, a new promo for the "Pretty Little Liars" Season 6B Winter Premiere surfaced online. Within the promo, fans can catch a brief moment that appears to be Toby punching Caleb.
"Do I dare make the leap that a Caleb-Spencer hookup could be in the cards?" theorized TVLine contributor Andy Swift.
But if you're worried about the major couples in "Pretty Little Liars," executive producer Marlene King promises a happy ending will forthcoming, just not quite yet.
"It's been a long ride," she tweeted. "Soon to be seven years. We all deserve a happy ending. But the road still needs travelled."
