Now that access to media can happen in an instant, it's no surprise that adaptations are happening just as quickly.
Admittedly, it is still awesome to know that video games are continuing to be adapted despite some of the early missteps.
Today, the official website for the "Prince of Stride Alternative" anime adaptation revealed its official winter 2016 release date. Set to premiere on Jan. 5 in Japan, the series will air on AT-X, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, and BS11. Currently, the series has yet to be licensed for streaming outside of Japan.
So far, anime fans are reacting tentatively to the announcement of the series:
"Kinda looking forward to this one. It's been a while since I've seen a series with relay," said Stark700 in an ANN forum.
Anime News Network reports that the original Japanese voice cast for the "Prince of Stride" PS Vita game will return for the anime adaptation. Atsuko Ishizuka will direct the anime with series composition by Taku Kishimoto. Kakunen Ou will adapted the original character designs by Kanako Nono. Madhouse will handle the animation production.
"Prince of Stride" was originally a PS Vita game released by Kadokawa. Anime News Network reports the following storyline for the "Prince of Stride Alternative" anime series:
"The anime series revolves around a closed-down 'Stride' club at Hōnan Academy. First-year high school students Takeru Fujiwara and Nana Sakurai attempt to restart the club, but they must recruit six members for the team."
It goes on:
"They ask Riku Yagami to join, but he turns them down by saying that Stride is the one thing he doesn't want to do. However, Takeru and Nana drag Riku into the clubroom to try to convince him."
