Harry Styles can't seem to get away from Taylor Swift's shadow when it came to the song "Perfect." In his recent interviews along with other One Direction co-members, Styles was grilled constantly about the song.
As reported by MTV, Styles was put in the hot seat by "Late Late Show" host James Corden during an Apple event earlier this week.
"I'm reading the lyrics [to 'Perfect'] and I happen upon a line and in the song it says, 'And if you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about, baby I'm perfect,'" James Corden pointed out. "Now listen, I don't want to have any bad blood about this. If you don't want to talk about this, we can shake it off...who's the song about?"
Styles was mum throughout the questioning but he couldn't stop himself from laughing when the questioned was finished.
During another event though while promoting their new album "Made In The A.M.," Harry Styles admitted something about "Perfect" and the Taylor Swift reference to it.
"I didn't know that was the speculation," he explained on "The Jonathan Ross" show as quoted by the Irish Examiner. "I think everyone writes from personal experience and I think you draw from lots of different things and songs aren't always necessarily about what people may take them to be about, sometimes they are."
His other One Direction bandmate also came to the rescue to explain the song "Perfect" even more.
"The point of that song is often when we do meet people it is quite hectic and it is quite chaotic, so it was kind of putting that into a song," Louis Tomlinson said.
The speculation that "Perfect" was Harry Styles song to Taylor Swift has been circulating since October as told by Teen Vogue. The One Direction member has neither admitted nor denied the speculation. He did admit though that the song was about a personal experience.
