Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez Vs. Gennady Golovkin Up Next? Will They Finally Agree To Do Catch-Weight Fight?

Finally, the mega-fight between Miguel Cotto vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has finally concluded with the Mexican taking home the 119-109, 118-110 and 117-111 unanimous decision victory.

All fired up, canelo is now ready to prove that he is ready for another mega-fight as Yahoo Sports reported that when he was asked if he is ready to fight undefeated boxer Gennady Golovkin next, he is more than willing to do so.

"I'm not afraid of anyone," Alvarez said after being crowned as the new WBC middleweight champ.

Meanwhile, Cotto's camp still can't believe on how the fight was scored as Freddie Roach said that it wasn't that huge of a gap.

"What bothered me was that the scoring was so [wide]," Roach said. "We didn't lose the fight that much. There is no way."

Nevertheless, a loss is a loss and it is now time to look on what's next for both fighters.

For Miguel Cotto, he can go accept a few more matches or take the $15 million reward money, hang up the gloves and wait for his induction to the boxing Hall of Fame.

For Alvarez, meanwhile, a lot of opportunity has opened up but Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya wants his fighter to take it easy first.

"I'm not saying he's fighting anyone else, but I'm not announcing anything," De La Hoya said. "We're going to let him rest and then we'll talk about it. Is he going to fight Triple-G? Absolutely, of course. It's not a question. Canelo is willing to fight anyone."

Should they decide to go with Golovkin, they will have to meet on catch-weight which they didn't agree on doing last month.

Canelo said, "If he [Golovkin] wants to fight with me, let him come down to 155 and I'll fight him whatever day he wants...At this moment, my body isn't ready for 160 pounds. Maybe 1 or 2 more years I'll be ready for 160."

Golovkin, however, is not a fan of the idea, saying, "There is no chance that I will go to 155-pounds for a 'Canelo' fight. The division limit is 160 pounds, this is my weight class," Golovkin said to ESPN Deportes via Opening Round. "I am a fighter; I am here not for business."

Will they come to terms? Stay tuned.
