Adele's newly-released album "25" has debuted at number 1 in the iTunes in 106 countries, out of 109.
The Guardian reported that the newest offering of the 27-year-old British singer and songwriter was able to hit huge sales from its 300,000 sold copies in the UK alone during its release on Friday.
The record-breaking performance of the "Someone Like You" singer's third album, from 2008's "19" and 2011's "21," was touted to be as "one of the biggest first-day totals of all time."
According to the site, Adele's "25" ranked third, so far, among UK's high-grossing albums since 1997.
"Only two albums have ever sold more than 500,000 copies in a week - 'Progress' by Take That, which sold 518,601 in its debut week in November 2010, and Oasis's 'Be Here Now,' the all-time record holder which notched 695,761 in its first chart week in August 1997," the report dished.
With such amazing performance of her new album on its release date, Adele was successful for having secured a "place, along with Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith," for being part of the top 1% of "artists who can reliably sell albums in big numbers, in contrast to the 99% lower down the charts whose sales are in freefall."
Amid "25's" iTunes success, Adele was reportedly not streaming its content in Spotify "at least for the time being."
In the meantime, The Billboard shared that the production of the album was practically inspired by Madonna.
Based on the report, Moby's seminal "Play" and Madonna's "Ray of Light" influenced the multi-awarded singer's latest project especially that they are the ones she most listened to while working on "25."
"I believe everything she says on it," she confessed while noting that she was not actually "exposed to Madonna's catalog earlier."
"Some of the songs on it are an ode to her first kid, and I needed that to challenge me," she added.
Adele's new album "25" is expected to take in more success in the coming days.
