'Thor 3' 2017 Casting and Plot Rumors: "Thor 3: Ragnarok" promises to be milestone entry for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to reports, a female villain will terrorize Chris Hemsworth's Thor in the upcoming "Thor 3: Ragnarok."
In the past the "Thor" franchise featured male villains like Loki and Malekith. They have included female superheroes, like Jane Foster, Darcy, Sif, and Frigga, but no women have played main villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While Marvel movies featured female villains like "Guardians of the Galaxy's" Nebula, played by Karen Gillan, and "Avengers: Age of Ultron's" Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, they never got top baddie billing.
Rumors have been focusing on Amora the Enchantress, The Queen of the Norns Karnilla, and Warrior Queen Knorda and Norse goddess of death, Hela.
"The Valkyrie has been around since the 70s and is a key character in Thor mythos," According to comic book writer Stan Lee's blog.
"The Asgardian was selected by Odin to be the leader of the Valkyrior, a group of warrior goddesses who were originally responsible for delivering dying warriors to Valhalla. In the comics Valkyrie, a.k.a. Brunnhilde, is one of Thor's allies on Asgard, but her exact role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has not yet been revealed."
Lainey Gossip was the first to report that "Valkyrie," "Amora the Enchantress" or "Hela" might appear in the third "Thor" movie.
"If Valkyrie is really coming to the big screen, that will make two high-profile female roles being cast in Ragnarok, because I have heard that Marvel is also planning on bringing their first major female villain into their cinematic universe," Lainey Gossip reported.
'Thor 3' is rumored to bring humor to the Norse gods.
"Thor 3: Ragnarok" will feature Mark Ruffalo from "Begin Again," as the Incredible Hulk. Marvel is negotiation with New Zealand director Taika Waititi, who direct the comedy series "Flight of the Concords," to lighten up what is being described as Marvel's darkest film yet.
Comedy horror director/actor Taika Waititi, who also made "What We Do in the Shadows," is officially on board to direct
