The Golden State Warriors are off to their best start not only in franchise history, but also in the NBA record books.
The Warriors (15-0) are one win away from breaking the record which is currently held by the 1948-1949 Washington Capitols. In order to do that, they would need to get past the LA Lakers who currently stands at 2-11.
Although some might think that this will be a walk in the park for the Warriors, LA Lakers star guard Kobe Bryant is revved up to face the best team in the NBA right now. It goes without saying that every team in the NBA will have their best foot forward facing the Warriors as they would love to be the team to break their hot streak.
Kobe spoke with Baxter Holmes of ESPN.com and he said that he saw countless upsets in the span of his career and this might be just one of those.
"I've seen stranger things happen," Bryant said. "We've been playing like s--t. We might go up there and we might play like gangbusters up there. You never know."
Also, he got to laugh at his current role in the team which is a facilitator, a role he never envisioned himself to be. Per Holmes: "When I've become the voice of 'ball-movement reason,' you know you have an issue. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be the one preaching that stuff. That's crazy."
Defeating the Warriors is no easy task. The Lakers have plenty of firepower aside from Kobe Bryant. They will definitely need the best of their young stars Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and D'Angelo Russell to at least keep up scoring wise. Will they pull the upset? Stay tuned.
