Gold Kit Kat bars are going to be sold.
When it comes to creating something out of chocolate, the limit is really one's imagination. Throughout the years, the delectable confection has come in many shapes, sizes and even odd mixtures. However, the king of experimentation with Kit Kat bars goes to Japan.
Japan has more than 200 different kinds of Kit Kats that change with the season, the holiday and to try out a new combination of flavors. According to CBS News, Kitkats are the most populare chocolate treat in japan because the name of the chocolate is approximately the same as a japanese expression of goodluck "kitto katsu."
The chocolate has become a very popular gift to give especially for school children. There are even special packaging made so that people can write notes before handing them over to their friends, family or lovers. The popularity of the chocolate is one of the main reasons why Nestle came up with all those unique flavors and also a way to pay tribute to the "unique tastes and foods of Japan."
Some examples of their unique Kit Kat flavors are Soybean,Grilled Potato, Maccha Milk, Cherry Blossom, Apricot Seed, Azuki Bean, Choco Banana, White Peach, Green Tea, Fruit Parfait, French Salt, Mango, Sports Drink, Apple Vinegar, Maple, Kiwifruit and so much more.
While some of their flavors may be questionable, it seems that they've pushed the limits of Kit Kat bar flavors once again. According to Sun Daily, Gold Kit Kat candy bars will be sold in Japan later this month. While the flavor of gold may be hard to fathom, the Kit Kat is reported to cost $16 and will be only available to a lucky few.
Nestle describes the Kit kat as a limited edition "Sublime Gold" one-finger treat covered in gold leaf and is said to have a rich, bitter, chocolate flavor.
The luxury gold Kit Kat candy bar has a run of 500 limited single bars to be sold within Japan.
