Disney Channel's 'Gravity Falls' Couldn't Be Saved, Show Ends After 2 Seasons

Disney Channel's "Gravity Falls" ends its run with two seasons.

Televisions shows come and go, but it came as a surprise that Disney Channel's "Gravity Falls" will be coming to a close after just two seasons. Considering that the show is reportedly one of Disney XD's highest-rated shows, it comes as a surprise that it is ending so soon.

“Gravity Falls was never meant to be a series that goes on and on forever,” said creator Alex Hirsch on Forbes. “It’s meant to be an exploration of the experience of summer, and in a larger sense a story about childhood itself. The fact that childhood ends is exactly what makes it so precious—and why you should cherish it while it lasts.”

There are some fans who just don't want to believe it, but Hirsch took to Twitter to confirm the sad news.

While Disney Channel's "Gravity Falls" is coming to an end, its doesn't mean that they haven't done something good. According to Variety, the mystery cartoon series was named the top international series at the BAFTA Children's award just days after Hirsch made the announcement.

"Gravity Falls" is an American animated television series created for Disney Channel. It follows the adventures of Dipper Pines and his twin sister Mabel Pines in a ficitional town called Gravity Falls in Oregon. They stumble upon a cryptic journal that gives them clues to the town mysteries and go on a mission to unlock its secrets.
