Foo Fighters has released a new EP and is called the "Saint Cecilia EP" over the weekend and is believed to be a tribute to the victims of the tragedy in Paris a few weeks back.
In a report by Gig Wise, the new EP is initially scheduled to be released in time for the end of their tour that promoted their recently released "Sonic Highways."
The "Saint Cecilia EP" was hinted by the Foo Fighters in their official site with a countdown last week, without giving out a clue as to what it was for.
Furthermore, the EP became available in their official website, which could be streamed or downloaded via Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and pre-orders for the vinyl version is also available.
Meanwhile, Dave Grohl also had a lengthy letter to go with the record, which revealed their thoughts about the album and also paying their respects and sympathies to the victims of the recent Paris attacks.
"Let me begin with a preface to a letter I wrote a few weeks ago from my hotel room in Berlin while on our final tour for this album," the Foo Fighters singer said in their online inlay for the "Saint Cecilia EP." "I felt the need to write this foreword in light of the heartbreaking tragedies of Nov. 13th, as this project has now taken on an entirely different tone. As has everything, it seems."
"The Saint Cecilia EP was put into motion back in October of this year as a celebration of life and music. The concept being that, as our world tour drew to a close this week, we wanted to share our love of both with you in return for everything you have given us."
"Now, there is a new, hopeful intention that, even in the smallest way, perhaps these songs can bring a little light into this sometimes dark world. To remind us that music is life, and that hope and healing go hand in hand with song. That much can never be taken away."
The "Saint Cecilia EP" is available on the Foo Fighters website.
