Horror Anime Shorts Series 'Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories' Gets New Trailer For Season 3 [VIDEO]

Halloween may have ended months ago, but there's plenty of terror coming in anime this winter.

I suppose it makes sense if you think the holidays are a nightmare.

Nevertheless, horror anime shorts series "Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories" has revealed a new trailer for the upcoming third season. The new trailer, available to view below, features a somewhat grotesque talking head. "Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories" season three is set to premiere sometime in January.

So far, fans are expressing excitement in response to the new trailer for "Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories" season three:

"I can't wait. The first two seasons were good," said OtakuExile.

Anime News Network reports that "Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories" season three will be directed by Takashi Taniguchi. ILCA and Anima will handle the CG animation production. Hiromu Kumamoto and Satoko Kishi will write the scripts.

As far as Japanese voice cast, so far Ryota Murai and Risa Aizawa have been confirmed to be returning as regular cast members. Guest Japanese voice cast members will be announced in the future.

For those not familiar with the series, ANN describes "Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories" as follows:

"A series of short horror stories based around Japanese myths and urban legends. The series is framed around an old man telling these tales to schoolchildren on a playground using kamishibai, a traditional Japanese storytelling method using paper scrolls."
