Tool guitarist Adam Jones revealed that the new album from the band is on its way and that the progress of the creation of the record is going "really well."
In a report by Consequence Of Sound, an interview with Rolling Stone revealed that the group has been in a brief break, as the band prepares a US tour in 2016.
"Things are really flowing and going really well, and I'm just blown away at the stuff that's coming together," Jones said in an interview. "I'm excited and can't wait for it to be done. It's something I've been missing for a long time [laughs], that beautiful collaboration that we have because we're all so different and have different tastes. But again, when you are all meeting in the middle and that thing you do that meets in the middle is just beautiful, it's very rewarding. So yes, I'm very happy."
Furthermore, Adam Jones also revealed in a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year how they have been working on new songs since last year, which he claimed to be "really heavy" and different but still have the same sound.
"Our greatest strength is jamming and coming up with stuff," Jones said of the new album from Tool. "We're doing that really well now and I'm excited about everything we're working on. Some of it's really heavy, some of it's really complex and some is more atmospheric, but it's definitely Tool."
The release of the new Tool album hasn't been confirmed as of now, but the guitarist revealed that they want to have it out in 2016 so that they could "tour more."
As pointed out in another Consequence Of Sound report, Tool will be touring with Primus in January before they go back in the studio for a new album.
