American Idol Original Judges' Reunion: Will They Judge The Whole Final Season?

Ryan Seacrest announced last week that an "American Idol" original judges reunion will be happening come 2016.

In an interview with E! Online, the TV and radio host confirmed the reunion that many fans of the show have been expecting for a while now.

"We will have the former judges back," Ryan Seacrest spilled to the source above. "The plan is to have all of them back. They've all considered it and I think are enthusiastic about coming back and saluting the show."

"I've spoken to all of them recently and we as a team have talked to them about coming back to do something for the final season," he also told Access Hollywood.

It was not clear though whether original judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson would be taking over the final season or just sitting in once in a while and sharing the spotlight with current judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr.

"They are going to do it it's just a matter of figuring what to do with them," Ryan Seacrest also said.

But while Seacrest seemed super sure of the American Idol original judges' reunion, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul were quite coy about their would-be participation.

"I'm always last to find out if the rumors are true, but I'm sure I'll find out," Paula Abdul told Entertainment Tonight. "I'm very grateful for the amazing time that I had. I was there for almost a decade when you think about it -- eight seasons, nine years. I'm just really proud to be a part of something that made history and changed the face of television as we know it today."

"You'll see me there somewhere, yeah," Randy Jackson meanwhile said. "[I'm] sad that it's ending but what a great run. 15 years! Oh my God! Whoa! The best ever!"

Simon Cowell has yet to address the American Idol original judges' reunion news but last month, he has told USA Today about how he wished the show would end.

"I've suggested that it ends with me sweeping the floor," Cowell shared to the source above. "I kind of want a cameo role. I'm sure I'll be there on the night. And it's going to be an emotional night. It's going to bring back a lot of good memories."
