Is Maya The New 'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6B Big Bad?

While fans still have a ways to wait for the "Pretty Little Liars" Season 6B premiere, there is a growing theory that we have already met the new Big Bad.

First, there has always been a contention that Maya is not dead. This evidence came during the Season 6A finale.

"After Emily killed Nate the girls got a call from someone saying, 'Emily I owe you one,'" wrote reddit user CindyLouSequin.

"Even at the time I wasn't sure whether that was A or not. Now after watching the finale, I am 100% sure it was Maya, not A. Because why the hell would CeCe care about Nate? Why would she need him dead? Besides, if she wanted that she would have just done it herself. Not to mention the fact that A never makes phone calls but only communicates through written messages."

After the exciting "Pretty Little Liars" Season 5 finale, executive producer Oliver Goldstick conducted an interview where he discussed the deceased character Maya St. Germain, after the name was mentioned during the episode.

"I think that's a word that would make 'A' perk up, just as it made you perk up," said Goldstick to TVLine. "Given Maya's history with the series-she was sort of clued in by the end, and possibly had some answers-it was not 'A' that killed her, but that doesn't mean 'A' didn't try."

Could Maya be the new Big Bad, even though the new Big Bad is supposed to be male.

"I can't confirm or deny if there's a new 'A,' but yes, 'he' is prospected to be the show's new baddie," said King to TVLine. "It is definitely brand new, but there's some connection to the past. Not a mystery revolving around the past, but a connection to the past."
