Top Rank CEO and promoter Bob Arum is vocal on who he wants as Manny Pacquiao's last opponent.
But, regardless of Pac-Man's choice, the promoter said he will accept it completely as everything is on the Filipino boxer's terms. The favorites out there are undefeated American boxer Terrence Crawford, Timothy Bradley and British boxer Amir Khan, who Arum likes the least among the three.
His sole reason is that, Khan isn't signed with Top Rank boxing and it would be a lot easier if it will be between Crawford or Bradley.
"Would I prefer it not to be Khan? Yes, but this is Manny's last fight," Arum said via ESPN.com. "I have a duty to him to present him all of the options. Do I hope he doesn't pick Khan though? Of course [because I don't promote him], but I don't think he will pick Khan. Khan was an option when we considered having this fight in April."
Crawford is all geared up and said he is just waiting for Pacquiao's go-signal.
"We're just waiting to hear from Manny," Crawford said to ESPN.com. "I feel great about it. I feel I was overdue for a big fight. Pacquiao is not a big guy. He comes in at 142, 144, and doesn't rehydrate a lot."
Meanwhile, it looks like the quest for the Mayweather rematch is about to come to an end as Pacquiao's adviser, Michael Koncz said that they will soon announce his opponent when he and Pacquiao meet this week. But, he said that the official announcement will likely be released early next year.
"We haven't had the chance to talk about it but he promised me that we'll discuss it this week," said Koncz per the Manila Bulletin.
