Guns N' Roses Reunion Tour 2015: Guns N' Roses seems to be throwing out clues that there's a reunion brewing with new merchandise featuring original members being thrown up on their official website. Of course, it might just be a cynical ploy to capitalize on the Guns N' Roses reunion rumors, but hey if they can do, so can we.
GNR's website began selling new merchandise featuring the original line-up of Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stadlin, and Steven Adler stuffed in stockings, blankets, pillows and painted on ornaments.
But I think the best clues come from the bookies. Bookmakers Betfair put the odds at 6/5 for Guns N' Roses headlining the twin festivals in 2016. Guns N' Roses headlined in 2010.
Slash recently ended the feud with frontman Axl Rose after 20 years of basic bitchiness.
Slash last commented on Guns N' Roses reunion rumors in May 2014 when he told CBS he would "never say never," because that didn't work out to well for Sean Connery. Fans said, okay. He didn't say never and the press took this as a Guns N' Roses reunion.
"I've got to be careful what I say there," Slash told CBS.
"I've got to be careful what I say there," Slash added in the CBS interview. "I mean, if everybody wanted to do it and do it for the right reasons, I think the fans would love it. I think it might be fun at some point to try and do that."
But in a new interview with the Telegram Slash "politely declined to broach the subject" and quickly turned to "his current project."
Australian promoter James Young said that now the Slash and Axl Rose feud is over that Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan agreed that the band could possibly release a new Guns N Roses album.
"I heard the most amazing rumor this week, from a very well-informed heavy hitter in the Australian music industry," Young told Consequence of Sound. "So what mega band could it be? I heard on Wednesday night that it would be Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Slash and Axl Rose - the reformation of the original 1987 Appetite For Destruction Guns N' Roses!"
A few months ago, Clarke told podcast host Eddie Trunk similar thoughts on a Guns N Roses reunion.
"It's strange. I mean, obviously, we've all heard [the rumors]. I actually did not know the news that Slash and Axl had talked, I didn't know, and I see him all the time. I don't know... I mean, obviously, it would be great for music if it did happen," he told Eddie Trunk.
But Clarke said he hadn't heard anything about a reunion from anyone in the band.
"No, I really don't," he answered when asked if he thought there would be a reunion.
In the meantime, they got pillows and stockings.
