In case anyone was wondering, "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson knows how to troll more than one fandom at a time, including Whovians in the "Doctor Who" fandom.
On Monday, Peter Jackson uploaded a video of himself discussing the longstanding invitation to direct episodes of "Doctor Who," which has not come to fruition so far. Surprisingly, "Doctor Who" actor Peter Capaldi makes an appearance as his on-screen persona, asking the director to sign a contract.
"This was an interesting weekend," said the video caption.

According to Metro, "Doctor Who" executive producer Steven Moffat has attempted to contact Peter Jackson about directing, before, with no response.
"I think his plan is we all go to New Zealand and spend six months making it and our plan is he comes to Cardiff and makes it in 12 days," said Moffat. "There’s that disparity. I’m not quite sure what a movie director, that can do anything he likes, gets out of our budget and our schedule,’ said Moffat. ‘The skill set required is pretending you’re Peter Jackson without a budget."
Sadly, while the future of "Doctor Who" and Peter Jackson still seems probable, the "Silmarillion" book Easter Egg in the video might have fans excited beyond reason.
According to The Verge, the rights to "The Silmarillion" are still held by the Tolkien estate, and they have not been a fan of the movie adaptations of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit."
Still, the obvious trolling in the video is still making fans believe that a movie of the book will become a reality one day.
