Manny Pacquiao Next Fight Might Be Against Canelo Alvarez? Floyd Mayweather Rematch Not Happening

Manny Pacquiao's camp has yet to decide on who will he fight next but one thing is for sure, his last match will be on April 9, 2016.

So, who are the candidates for Manny Pacquiao next fight? The usual suspects are American fighters Terrence Crawford and Timothy Bradley, as well as British boxer Amir Khan.

Timothy Bradley is in talks of getting a shot at Canelo, but he needs to beat Brandon Rios first. But, since Bradley is considered to fight Canelo, why not Manny Pacquiao?

After Canelo Alvarez defeated Miguel Cotto, there is now a possibility of Manny Pacquiao and the Mexican facing off in the ring in the future.

According to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, he and De La Hoya have spoken about a Canelo vs. Bradley fight, but a Pac-Man fight might be more promising for both promoters.

"If Bradley wins and is not fighting Pacquiao, I'd like to make him with Canelo. That's a good fight," Arum told ESPN.com via IBTimes. "If Canelo beats Cotto, I've talked to (Alvarez promoter) Oscar (De La Hoya) about the winner of Bradley-Rios fighting Canelo, and he loves it."

With that said, it looks like a possibility of a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight is out of the window. There is no telling if it will have the same impact as the first match, but Conrad Carino from Manila Times believe that Mayweather won't put his undefeated record on the line to fight Pacquiao.

"Let's face it - Mayweather isn't stupid to stake his undefeated record and give fight fans a treat by standing toe-to-toe with Pacquiao. That was very obvious in the first fight."
