Brighter Days Ahead For Sacramento Kings? George Karl, DeMarcus Cousins And Rajon Rondo Starting To Gel

It looks like the pieces are coming together for the Sacramento Kings as head coach George Karl, center DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo are finding ways to change the culture of the long dysfunctional franchise.

In a report by Yahoo Sports, a meeting between the three took place recently and it was a very productive meeting according to Rondo.

"It was a powerful meeting for all three of us," Rondo told Yahoo Sports. "We asked him to just sit with us so we can pick his brain and share our thoughts," Rondo told Yahoo Sports. "What I love about [Karl] is he's very open. George is not a dictator. 'What can we do positively? What can we do to improve?'

"If you can come into a meeting with no egos and everyone was humble, it just works out for the better," he added.

It is worth noting that it was very rough from the beginning for Karl and Cousins as the head coach allegedly wanted the star out of the team. Upon knowing his head coach's statement, a war of words ensued that forced the management to do their best to patch things up between the two.

Going back to the meeting, the two proposed that Karl be more constructive when it comes to film sessions. Rondo said that Karl could even use him as an example, whether good or bad for the others to learn.

Cousins only want to transform his Sacramento squad to winners that will be good enough to make the post season.

"We're just trying to correct every mistake we have. We want to be a winning team, and I feel it starts with myself on down to Rondo as well," cousins said.

With the arrival of Rondo, Cousins said that he found someone he can look up to and Rondo acknowledges him as his younger brother who he will guide every step of the way.

"The way we compete and the type of competitors we are, it's hard for us not to get along," Cousins said of Rondo. "We damn near think alike all the time. I'm soaking in all I can. He's a champion. I basically look up to him."

Lastly, Cousins said that when Rondo's contract is up, he will do everything in his power to remain his teammate in the years to come.
