'Star Wars Rebels' Season 3 Confirmed, All Because Of 48 Million Fans And Viewers

"Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 is confirmed.

This is the month that "Star Wars" fans are excited for because the seventh film installment in the "Star Wars" franchise will be released on Dec. 18. It has been a decade since the "Star Wars: Revenge Of the Sith" has been released so the hype that the newest movie comes from a long wait.

"The show continues to tell fun, heartfelt, exciting new Star Wars stories week after week, and it’s beloved by fans of all ages," wrote Lucasfilm Senior VP of Development, Kiri Hart in a press release on IGN. It is reportedly the second most-watched show on Disney XD, it is the station's number one series amongs adult fans and results with more than 48 million viewers worldwide.

“We are proud to bring our audience a third season of Star Wars Rebels, a series that has resonated across generations.” Marc Buhaj, senior vice president and programming and General Manager of Disney XD, said in a press release, “The creative team behind the series continues to do a brilliant job in delivering on the key tenets that fans have come to expect from a Star Wars property including adventure, hope and the battle between good vs. evil.”

No further details regarding the upcoming "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 have been revealed. Only that viewers will see the Rebel heroes gather more allies and go on new adventures as they try to save the Galaxy from the Empire.

The release date for "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 will be in 2016.

"Star Wars Rebels" is an American 3D CGI animated television series produced by Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm Animation. It premiered as a 44-minute film called "Star Wars Rebels: Spark Of Rebellion" before launching as a series.

The series is set 14 years after the "Revenge Of the Sith" and five years before "A New Hope". It takes place during a time when the Galactic Empire is trying to take control over the galaxy and Imperial forces are trying to huntdown the Jedi Knights.
