British boxer Tyson Fury is currently on top of the boxing world after he defeated long time champion, Vladimir Klitschko last Sunday, Nov. 28.
However, the former champ won't back down easily as he immediately wants to cash in his rematch clause and try to recapture his title as soon as possible.
"I'll be making use of my contractual option for a rematch with Fury. So to say: the fight of 2016 is in the making," Klitschko said via The Guardian.
Say no more, Klitschko, as Fury is more than willing to grant the rematch and is also looking forward to facing the former champ again next year.
"I want to be a great champion," Fury said. "And I'd like to do it all again. One thing I can say about the rematch is that it's going to be explosive."
If everything goes according to plan, the fight might happen summer next year at the Wembley Stadium according to Fury's promoter, Mick Hennessy per The Guardian. He added that the venue will be looked at on a business standpoint.
"Wembley Stadium would be very appealing at the right time of year, definitely," Hennesy said. "It was close to 55,000 in Düsseldorf. It would easily do 80,000 at Wembley. But it would have to be at the end of the football season."
He also believes that the rematch will also be a lot bigger since Fury gives so much color to the division. All the trash talking and bashing is something fans want and it brings out something on an opponent as well.
"A loud, young, brash, outspoken and brilliant talent as heavyweight champion of the world who no one knows what he's going to do next - and that includes me," he said.
