Ulo Kickstarter Campaign is a success and brings a new generation of interactive surveillance.
Security is one of the most important things consumers want when they get anything, its that sense of feeling safe that makes everything better. Surveillance cameras are the traditional way of making sure that houses, businesses and even babies are safe and sound, but they are expensive and can be eyesores as well.
One company has created a new kind of surveillance camera, connected via mobile app, in the form of an adorable pet owl that is easy to bring anywhere around the house. The Ulo Kickstarter Campaign is a recently successful campaign that was able to raise more than $1.5 million which was way beyond their $210,000 fund goal.
The adorable device looks like a toy because of its interactive eye expressions. When it is turned on (by tapping its head) the owl wakes up and opens its eyes. From then on the eyes are motion sensitive and react to the motion around it by looking at what is moving. It is also customizable as the eye colors can be changed via mobile app as well.
Interaction is brought to another level when the pet device starts getting sleepy, this isn't something to worry about as it only means that it needs to be recharged. Another is when it the weather starts getting gloomy or it starts to rain, the little Ulo gets grumpy. These cute interactions with the Ulo is just like having a robot pet rather than having a security camera.
While there is still a day left before the campaign officially closes, it is safe to say that with 7,466 backers, the Ulo interactive surveillance camera will become an actual product for selling. Also, because the campaign was such a big success, the company has been able to achieve stretch goals such as Waterproof Ulo safe for outdoor use, Apple Homekit Compatibility, Voice Control in four different languages, 1080P Camera and even a face recognition feature.
The Ulo Kickstarter Campaign offers those interested pledges that have corresponding perks. The most basic perk is 1 Ulo that is worth $158. While this may seem pricey, it is already discounted 25-percent from its original $210 retail price. Other pledges offer more Ulos, the maximum is an offer for nine Ulos, with discount deals reaching up to 44-percent off the retail price.
A video was uploaded on Youtube to show off the other great features that the Ulo has to offer.
The Ulo Kit reportedly comes with one Ulo, four adhesive magnets and a USB cable for charging.
