‘Supergirl’ ‘The Flash’ Crossover Still A Remote Possibility; ‘Supergirl’ Gets Full Season

Sorry, DC fans, but a "Supergirl" "The Flash" crossover may not happen anytime soon.

This was announced by executive producer Greg Berlanti during a recent press screening of "The Flash" and "Arrow" crossover, according to Comic Book Resources.

"No, only because we just received the pick up," Berlanti answered when asked by a reporter on whether there have already been initial discussions regarding the rumored crossover.

"Not at this point," he added.

Many fans were predicting a "Supergirl" "The Flash" crossover since producers revealed that the former was already in the process of development.

Rumors were rife over the weekend that Barry would be making a visit to National City, which was believed to be a condition for "Supergirl's" full season order.

However, the push to bring the two superheroes together may no longer be necessary, at least in the near-term, with "Supergirl" receiving its full season pick-up after CBS ordered an additional seven episodes of the show.

With the exploration of parallel worlds in "The Flash," it only seemed logical that the scarlet speedster would be making an appearance in "Supergirl," Screen Crush pointed out.

But CBS boss downplayed the likelihood of the two DC characters crossing paths in the near-terms, as she said, "I think we're going to keep 'Supergirl' to [ourselves] right now."

The possibility of a "Supergirl" "The Flash" crossover gained traction when Warner Bros started work on "Supergirl" in which it was assumed that the show would end up on CW, We Got This Covered noted.

The company, however, became worried that CW might become too identified with its superhero properties, which led to its decision to bring the show to CBS.

To give "Supergirl" an added boost in ratings, a visit from "The Flash" would help lure in more viewers.

But with Greg Berlanti's involvement in both "Supergirl" and "The Flash," the chances of a crossover between the two still remain a distinct possibility.
