Rumors have swirled that a "Jessica Jones" and "Daredevil" crossover may be happening soon. Although none of the showrunners have directly indicated this idea, one did give a hint about the possibility.
According to a report on Bustle, Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb teased five months ago that the possibility was in the horizon. But he did not say when.
"Without giving anything away, they're in the same area," he told Entertainment Tonight back then. "In some cases they are in the same neighborhood. One of the things that is important to us is, when you enter the police station, it's the same police station. When you go to the hospital, you start to see the same people."
"If it feels grounded and real, then those kind of things should happen," he added. "It's one of those things where we're trying to create something that Marvel fans have become very comfortable with, and something that I'm teased about all the time, which is hashtag it's all connected."
But by doing this, Loeb also said they want each series to be independent from one another so they just insert easter eggs once in a while.
As told by Screenrant, among the easter eggs that connect "Jessica Jones" and "Daredevil" for a possible cross over is the Matador sign behind the fire exit when Krysten Ritter's character started snooping on Luke Cage. Matador is said to be a villain in Matt Murdock's world in the comics.
Another connection is the women that appeared on the new Marvel Netflix series. As reported by USA Today, Jessica Jones referred Luke Cage to Angela del Toro when he needed a private eye. Claire Temple also helped the pair when Luke Cage got knocked out in a fight. Both women already showed some sort of crossover as they were also from the "Daredevil" universe.
While all clues point to the possibility, showrunners have yet to directly confirm the crossover. Krysten Ritter, on the other hand, has expressed her excitement for season 2 of the series.
"I had such mixed emotions about the ending, because what does that mean for Jessica's journey or her purpose?" Krysten Ritter told Variety. "So I think I would love to see what she gets into next. And I love doing stunts - like, fight sequences and things like that. They always say in second seasons they really amp those up!"
