Jimmy Fallon Proves Late Night Reign Vs Stephen Colbert? Chelsea Handler Wants ‘Tonight Show’?

There's apparently another threat on Jimmy Fallon's post as the "Tonight Show" host. After proving once more his reign on late as he edged Stephen Colbert, rumors also abound that Chelsea Handler was after his show.

As reported by Deadline, for the week of Nov. 16-20, about 3.322 million viewers tuned in to the "Tonight Show" while the "Late Show" had about 2.623 million viewers in the same period.

This has been a record for Fallon as he has been able to maintain good ratings ahead of the "Late Show" for the past five weeks.

The ratings improvement came in just after rumors swirled that the "Tonight Show" host may be on the verge of getting fired due to his alleged drinking problem and the worries of show insiders for his constant injuries and apparent partying in the past months. But despite somehow proving his place in the show, Jimmy Fallon has insisted previously that he doesn't worry about the numbers and also don't compete with Stephen Colbert.

"I see them now and then," he told Esquire about the "Tonight Show" ratings. "I talked to Jay Leno about this-he told me, 'They're gonna go up and down. Don't worry about that side of it-just do your thing and have fun.' Other people get paid to worry about those things. I don't."

"He's not [David] Letterman and I'm not Leno," Fallon added about Colbert and their shows. "No one's the new anyone. He's him, I'm me. Don't even compare us-to anybody. I'm me. He's him. Like, that's the way it is. We're totally ourselves."

While Stephen Colbert doesn't pose a threat on Jimmy Fallon, a new rumor has swirled that Chelsea Handler may be after his job.

According to an item on Radar Online, Chelsea Handler has reportedly told NBC executive that she's ready to take over the show if the need arises. But Gossip Cop insisted that the "Chelsea Lately" host has never showed interest on the show. Fallon has been locked as well to host it until 2021.
