Die-hard 5SOS fans broke out in a frenzy after bassist Calum Hood shared a tweet hinting that he may be leaving the band soon, a development which some believe may be related, among others, to the group's no-girlfriend policy.
"One day I will leave and live a normal life," the 19-year-old rocker posted on his Twitter account, according to Hollywood Life.
There seemed to be an eeriness to the Aussie musician's post, as its wording was quite similar to the departure statement of New Direction's Zayn Malik.
In his Facebook page, Malik also wrote about his desire to move away from the spotlight and "live the life of a 22-year-old."
Followers of 5SOS bassist Calum Hood feel that aside from the group's no-girlfriend policy, its non-stop touring, continuous press appearances and jet-setting ways may have started to take its toll on the band members.
But after realizing the impact created by his controversial tweet, the dynamic bassist from Down Under immediately took down the post and replaced it with a super sweet tweet referencing goats plus a smiling emoji to boot.
"Me," he tweeted together with a caption which read, "this happy goat is making me feel so happy about everything."
In the meantime, Calum's tweet certainly pulled at the heartstrings of his fans across the globe, as the hashtag "WeLoveYouCalum" became a top trending topic in Twitter, reported Mail Online.
Most of the fans' tweets and re-tweets included messages of support and praises for the bassist-singer.
"We all love you!! Stay strong," Lo#WeLoveYouCalum (@IDZquadAf) posted.
"I want you to know how special you are to us, you're amazing at bass and singing," Grace Watson (@hggracew) tweeted. "Such a great personality, I love you!"
"I love how he will go out of his way to make us happy even when he isn't," We Love You Calum (@babybunny5sos) declared.
With the outpouring of love from his legion of fans, 5SOS bassist Calum Hood may have realized that he can still be happy and content - with or without a girlfriend.
