'Prison School' OVA Adapting 'Mad Wax' Arc Announced For Manga Bundle, Fans Fear No Season 2

According to reports, a new "Prison School" OVA was announced on the jacket band of the recently release 19th volume of the manga series in Japan. The "Prison School" OVA is set to be bundled with the 20th volume and will feature the previously unanimated "Mad Wax" arc and will be released on March 4, 2016.

Though the announcement of an OVA is usually good news, many fans are reacting to the news with fear that there will not be a second season of the main "Prison School" anime.

"Does this mean no second season for Prison School," said Ryanvamp.

Other fans who have read the manga believe that perhaps this is a test for how to start the potential "Prison School" season two anime.

"This is weird since this should be the first episode of a second season, perhaps they're just testing waters and will air it whenever the Aboveground Student Council Arc ends, or at least I hope so," said Valhern.

Despite the somewhat stable ANN ratings this summer, it appears that the potential for a next season of the "Prison School" anime series remains stagnant. Hopefully the "Prison School" OVA announcement is not a sign that there won't be a second season.

For those not familiar with the series, Yen Press describes the story of "Prison School" as follows:

"Hachimitsu Private Academy was a revered and elite all-girls' boarding school on the outskirts of Tokyo...once upon a time. But with the new school year comes a revision to school policy: Boys are to be admitted into the student body for the first time ever. But on his first day at Hachimitsu, Kiyoshi Fujino discovers that he's one of only five boys enrolled at the school. Their numbers overwhelmed by the thousand girls in the student body, is it heaven or hell that awaits these five (un)fortunates?!"
