'Twin Star Exorcists' Anime To Be Produced Studio Pierrot

Earlier this year, it was announced that the "Twin Star Exorcist" manga series would be adapted into an anime series. Fans made predictions about the studio that would be responsible, some even wishing for Studio Lerche.

Sadly, those fans were wrong. Or maybe, it's a good thing they were wrong. Only time will tell.

According to reports, the "Twin Star Exorcists" anime will be produced by Studio Pierrot. The studio is responsible for popular series like "Naruto," "Yona of the Dawn," and "Tokyo Ghoul."

So far, fans in an ANN forum are having tentative reactions to Studio Pierrot's involvement with the "Twin Star Exorcists" anime adaptation.

"Meh, not sure what to think of this. I would've much preferred a studio like Bones or Madhouse to have it, but it's not the worst choice in the world, at least," said RyanAshfyre.

Other fans however believe the new key visual (pictured above) is lackluster and a bad sign.

"RIP TwinStar Exorcists. Benio's face is weird, and Rokuro looks like a character from a Cartoon Network show. The adaptation better be like Yona, and not like Tokyo Ghoul," said GoldenPincers.

ANN reports that the "Twin Star Exorcists" manga series launched in Shuiesha's "Jump Square" magazine in November 2013. Since then, Shueiesha has compiled six volumes of the series. The sixth volume was released earlier this year in September in Japan.

Viz Media, who is releasing the original manga series by Yoshiaki Sukeno outside of Japan, describes the story of "Twin Star Exorcists" as follows:

"Rokuro dreams of becoming anything but an exorcist! Then mysterious Benio turns up. The pair are dubbed the 'Twin Star Exorcists' and learn they are fated to marry...Can Rokuro escape both fates? When Rokuro's best friend Ryogo goes missing, Rokuro is forced to ask Benio for help to enter Magano, the realm of the evil Kegare, to rescue him!"

Viz Media will release the third volume of the "Twin Star Exorcists" manga series in January.
