'Legends Of Tomorrow' Release Date Set In January; EPs Guggenheim And Berlanti Answer Questions About Show

Around two months from now, The CW will finally air the much anticipated superhero show of 2016, "Legends of Tomorrow" and here are some takeaways from the executive producers of the show.

Just this week, a two-part special merging Team Arrow and Flash to fight one common enemy in Vandal Savage was aired and it was nothing short of spectacular. In the end of the cross-over, the heroes were able to save their new friends as well as killing Savage. But in the end, Merlyn retrieved his ashes and the motive behind it was not revealed.

With that said, EP Marc Guggenheim answered some questions about the main antagonist of Legends, who is Savage. According to the EP, his motive is a lot bigger than killing the lovers over and over again.

"I think that's something you'll see in Legends. He has a very clear plan and trajectory," Guggenheim told IGN. "The thing about Vandal is that for him a lifetime is an eye blink. He thinks in thousand-year-old terms. He's a very much a master of the long con. Yes, he does have his own personal agenda vis a vis the Hawks. But he's got much bigger plans for the world, which you'll have to watch Legends to find out."

Also, now that the side heroes will be getting their own screen time, fans should expect to see them less in both shows according to EP Greg Berlanti.

"Absolutely. In fact, once Legends is born in January, there's really no intersection on the other shows," he said. "Legends is kind of its own wacky, crazy kind of thing that allows for some fun surprises in terms of who may visit and how because they're flying through the timeline and you'll start to see more of that. But not on Arrow or Flash."

Lastly, it looks like fans will get to see more of Kendra and Carter's past when the show hits TV.

"There really is an opportunity for all sorts of insane things, which is kind of one of the challenges that we put forth to ourselves, which is what makes the show different in its own way," said Berlanti.
