If you're an anime fan, there is always a jealous feeling toward anime fans who live in Japan. Even more so, for fans who are fluent in Japanese.
But there's definitely no more jealousy felt than hearing about a special premiere event in Japan, and then the guessing game of whether the premiered item will be released for fans unable to attend.
If you are a "Seraph of the End" fan that was really hoping the episode that premiered at the Jump Special Anime Festa in November would be exported, your wish has been granted. According to reports, the "Seraph of the End" manga volume 11 will include the special event anime episode entitled "The Vampire Shahal." The volume will be released on May 2.
According to Anime News Network, "The Vampire Shahal" anime episode follows an original story with original characters that takes place before the events of the Battle in Nagoya. A mysterious vampire named Shahal and human girl named Riko whom he has kidnaped but refuses to drink her blood. Ultimately, Shahal receives a visit from vampire nobles Ferid and Crowley while Shinoa's squad is tasked with rescuing Riko.
Yuuki Kaji is the voice of Shahal and Rina Hidaka is the voice of Riko. The remaining Japanese voice cast is assumed to be returning from the main anime series. The episode was directed by Hironori Aoyagi and written by Attatory. Wit Studio once again handled the animation production.
Viz Media is currently releasing the "Seraph of the End" manga series in North America. They released the seventh volume of the series on Dec. 1. Funimation is currently streaming the anime series outside of Japan, and has released broadcast English dubs of the episodes.
Funimation describes the story of "Seraph of the End" as follows:
"After a mysterious virus wipes out ninety percent of humanity, vampires emerge from the recesses of the earth to enslave mankind, treating them like livestock. After growing tired of donating blood in exchange for protection, 12-year-old Yuichiro Hyakuya and his best friend Mikaela Hyakuya plot an escape along with the other orphans."
It goes on:
"After being the only successful runaway, Yuichiro joins the Moon Demon Company, an extermination unit of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army dedicated to killing off vampires. A true shonen fan should not miss out on Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign!"
