LSU Ben Simmons Is The Next LeBron James? The King Likes Comparisons

LSU freshman Ben Simmons is making a lot of noise in the basketball world and as early as now, he is drawing comparisons to league superstar, LeBron James.

His all-around game resembles so much of the King as the Australian phenomenon is averaging 19.9 points, 14.9 rebounds and six assists per ball game. At 6'10", he has showcased skill and versatility unlike any others and The King does agree with that.

Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the King acknowledges the youngster's game and doesn't even mind if people compare Simmons' game to his.

"I don't mind it. Someone's going to be compared to someone all the time, and I don't mind him being compared to me," James said. "People not only recognizing what he does on the floor, but he's a great kid, too. He has a great family, great support system, and that's why he's able to do what he [does] on the floor."

It is also worth noting that both players had some time together at the Nike Basketball Academy that took place last summer as both players had important roles to fill during the event.

Simmons, upon hearing comparisons of him and the King, is flattered and he admitted that he modeled his game to LeBron's. It is interesting to see how a 6'10" point forward does the same things the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar is doing during the course of his career.

"He's one of the best players in the world that's played the game," Simmons said. "I just try to take little parts of his game and put it into mine. His size is one of the things that I look at. I'm 6-10, and he's right at 6-8 or 6-9, and I just try and fit what he does into my game.
