Chelsea Handler Blasts Jimmy Fallon Rumors? ‘Chelsea Does’ Host Not Interested In Late-Night?

Chelsea Handler has been rumored to be after Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" post after it has been rumored that the host's job was in danger since reports surfaced that showrunners have been getting worried about his alleged partying ways.

As reported by Radar Online, Handler was apparently waiting on the sidelines for Fallon to stumble to take over the show and it seemed recent boozing rumors about the former "SNL" cast member was her purported ticket in. She even has reportedly sent word to NBC executives she's really to come in anytime.

"Chelsea is rubbing her hands together with glee over Jimmy Fallon's fall from grace," a source revealed. ""Remember, Jay Leno was grooming her to take over when he retired and both of them were disappointed when it went to Jimmy."

But according to Gossip Cop, Chelsea Handler was not interested in Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" stint.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last month, she even shared that she has no plans to do a late-night show at all while explaining the concept of her Netflix show, "Chelsea Does."

"It's not going to look like a late-night talk show," she told SiriusXM's "Radio Andy" as cited by the source above. "The last thing I would ever want to do is a late-night show. We have 15 of them now and I still don't watch any."

Prior to Jay Leno's exit from the late-night talk show back in 2014, Handler herself has expressed that she's not interested in it.

"If I was ever going to leave E! once I decided I was done, I was like 'ok, what can I do next that I would be happy with and that's not taking over someone's else's job somewhere else?'" she pointed out to the "Today" show in 2014. "That has no appeal to me."

"It was only Netflix, always," she added when asked if she every eyed Stephen Colbert's or Fallon's job. "I mean there was a lot of speculation. It was inaccurate as it usually is."

Chelsea Handler's new Netflix show, "Chelsea Does" will stream starting next year. Jimmy Fallon, on the other hand, was locked to do the "Tonight Show" until 2021.
