Charlie Hunnam has expressed his interest about the rumored "Son of Anarchy" prequel that would focus on the Mayan Motorcycle Club.
In an interview with Men's Journal, the Jax Teller actor said the recent buzz about the prequel and Kurt Sutter's plans for it has piqued his interest.
"He's trying to do a prequel, which I would love to see," he told the source above. "Kurt is trying to get it going. Did you read that about Brad Pitt maybe playing my dad? Brad Pitt as John Teller. How awesome would that be?"
But fans may not get their wish come true and see him portray Jax Teller again. According to the actor, he not sure if he'll be a part of it.
"I'm not sure when it would happen though, he's got another TV show he's working on," he explained. "I don't know if he needs me as a lead actor on that too. I love that guy, but it was hard for us to work together sometimes because we're both crazy fucks. Kurt and I never blasted each other in the face, but I'll say it got close. There has been security rushing onto set and pulling us apart before."
The Charlie Hunnam and "Sons of Anarchy" rumors first swirled in September after Kurt Sutter himself revealed his plans for a prequel.
"At some point I do have plans to hopefully do the prequel, which I do see as a one-off 10- or 12-episode thing where we begin in Nam and see John Teller and Piney and see how that relationship got created, and bring them back to the States and the obvious external dynamics that were going on with the country and the perception of the war and what an odd kind of perception these vets got when they returned home," Kurt Sutter told Deadline at the time.
He also expressed interest in working with his "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam but this time for the series "The Bastard Executioner."
"Charlie really wants to come and do, like, a little arc but, he's sort of booked solid for the next three years, so I don't know if that'll happen," Kurt Sutter revealed to Entertainment Weekly.
